ANNOUNCEMENT: New Opportunities for Student-Athletes to Complete Required Sports Physicals

Student-athletes now have two convenient opportunities to complete their required Pre-Participation Physical Exam for the 2026–2027 school year.

Option 1: Ramsay High School On-Campus Physicals
Date: Thursday, May 14, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM (during the school day)
Location: Ramsay High School

UAB Sports & Exercise Medicine will provide on-site physical exams at Ramsay for student-athletes.

Option 2: Protective Stadium Physical Event
Date: Tuesday, May 12, 2026
Time: 5:00–7:00 PM
Location: Protective Stadium

Students may also receive their physical exam at Protective Stadium during this evening session.

Important Reminder:
Parents/guardians must download and complete all required forms, including signatures, prior to the exam as part of the consent process.

Spring Practice & Workouts – Eligibility Reminder

All players must be 100% cleared for Spring Practice/Workouts to prepare for the 2026–2027 season.
All forms must be submitted under the student’s full name.
The Sportsmanship Certification must also be completed using the student’s full name.
Upcoming Requirement Deadline– May 5, 2026

Players will be required to update their DragonFly account for the 2026–2027 season in early May 2026.

Players must be officially enrolled at Ramsay High School before completing DragonFly.

STEPS FOR ELIGIBILITY

Once enrollment and all DragonFly requirements are completed, the Coaches and Athletic Department will review and approve the submitted documents.

Eligibility Notice – Football Participation

Players may NOT participate on any flag or tackle football team during the Ramsay High School football season. Doing so is an AHSAA violation and will void the athlete’s eligibility.
Players may participate in other club or travel sports (7-on-7, flag), but MUST attend all Ramsay High School football activities.
- School sports take priority and require full commitment.

AHSAA Eligibility Requirements

The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) requires all student-athletes to complete eligibility paperwork each year. This process is completed online through DragonFly.

Any student in grades 7–12 wishing to participate in athletics must complete this process annually.
All forms must be 100% complete in order to participate in summer workouts or athletic activities during the school year.
These requirements apply to all AHSAA-sanctioned sports.
