It was a historic day for Ramsay High School as two of its own—Tim Keenan III and Jeremiah “Scooby” Williams—took the next step in their football journeys, officially entering the NFL ranks through the 2026 Draft process.
Tim Keenan III: From Birmingham to the League
Tim Keenan III, a dominant presence on the defensive line for the Alabama Crimson Tide, was selected in the 7th round (No. 232 overall) by the Los Angeles Rams.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and over 320 pounds, Keenan built his reputation as a powerful interior lineman who could anchor defenses and control the line of scrimmage. His journey began in Birmingham at Ramsay High School, where he helped lead the program to strong seasons.
At Alabama, Keenan developed into a reliable starter and a key piece of one of the nation’s top defensive fronts. His selection continues Alabama’s long-standing pipeline to the NFL and adds another Ramsay alum to the professional ranks.
Jeremiah “Scooby” Williams: Opportunity Meets Preparation for the League
Jeremiah “Scooby” Williams took a different—but equally impactful—path to the NFL. After beginning his college career with the Florida Gators, he transferred and finished with the Texas A&M Aggies, where he became a key contributor at linebacker.
Williams, a former four-star recruit out of Ramsay, was known for his athleticism, instincts, and versatility on defense. His development across two SEC programs prepared him for the next level.
Following the draft, Williams signed as an undrafted free agent (UDFA) with the Minnesota Vikings, earning his opportunity to compete at the professional level.
A Shared Legacy: Ramsay to the National Stage
Keenan and Williams share more than just NFL aspirations—they share a foundation built at Ramsay High School in Birmingham. Both players were instrumental in the program’s success, contributing to playoff runs and earning statewide recognition before moving on to SEC powerhouses.
Their rise from local standouts to professional athletes highlights the strength of Birmingham football and the impact of Ramsay’s development pipeline. From Friday night lights to the NFL stage, their journeys now serve as inspiration for another generation of Rams.
A Proud Moment for Coach Jackson
Ramsay Head Coach Ronnie Jackson reflected proudly on seeing former players reach this milestone after years of dedication and development.
“I’m extremely proud of both of these young men. They’ve grown as men, matriculated through college, and continue to represent their faith, their families, and Ramsay well. It shows that all things are possible for those who believe, put God first, prioritize their development, and persevere daily. We are certainly proud of them and wish them the very best.” Their success also serves as inspiration for current Ramsay players, reinforcing that Ramsay can be a gateway to opportunities at the highest levels of college and professional football."
The advancement of both Keenan and Williams underscores a powerful reality: elite talent can emerge from any community when discipline, development, and opportunity align.
For Ramsay High School, this moment is more than recognition—it’s validation. Two former players, shaped in the same halls and on the same field, now carry that legacy into the NFL.
And for Birmingham, it’s a reminder: that Ramsay continues to produce not just athletes—but professionals ready for the biggest stage in football.
