Preserving the architectural marvels of the country in this digital era gained momentum with recent scientific initiatives of the Government on Digital Heritage Mapping. The digital documentation helps in preserving the engineering skills of our ancestors and can act as a testimony to the civilization of the past. With the heritage sites prone to natural weathering, natural disasters, and aging digitally preserving the natural heritage become pertinent for future generation.

The objective of this research project was to employ terrestrial laser scanner and create a 3D digital documentation of Koyikkal Palace in Nedumangad in Thiruvananthapuram, which was built in the 15th century.
