The Smart Aquaculture Ecosystem is a holistic IoT solution designed to modernize traditional fish farming. By bridging the gap between biological water dynamics and digital automation, this system ensures optimal water quality, reduces operational costs, and protects aquatic assets.

The ecosystem is built upon a Unified MQTT API Architecture, allowing three distinct device categories—Sensing (SEN), Switching (SW), and Laser Repellent (LR)—to communicate seamlessly with the cloud. The system handles everything from real-time analytics to automated aeration and predator control.

2. System Architecture

The core of the system is a scalable, mac-address-based unique identification protocol. All devices are powered by ESP32 microcontrollers and communicate via a custom MQTT structure, ensuring low latency and high reliability.

Connectivity: MQTT over Wi-Fi (with provisions for LoRaWAN gateways).
Power Strategy: Autonomous 12V Solar System (LiFePO4 Batteries + MPPT Controllers).
Fleet Management: Over-the-Air (OTA) updates and dynamic configuration via API.

NFN-SEN Series (Sensor Nodes)

The "Eyes" of the Pond.

The Sensing Unit (SEN) monitors critical water parameters (DO, pH, ORP, Turbidity, TDS, Temperature, Water Level).

Version 1.0 (The Flow-Through Concept): Addressed the lifespan issues of hobby-grade analog sensors (DFRobot Gravity Series) by implementing an innovative "Sampling Box" design. A 12V pump periodically drew water into a testing chamber, protecting sensors from continuous submersion and bio-fouling.
Version 2.0 (The Industrial Upgrade): Migrated to Industrial RS485 Modbus Sensors for DO and pH, and a custom-engineered interface for ORP (via reverse-engineered analyzer modules). This upgrade allowed for direct submersion, eliminating the need for pumps and significantly increasing hardware durability and data precision.

NFN-SW Series (Switching Units)

The "Hands" of the Farm.

An 8-Channel Intelligent Control Unit designed to automate heavy AC loads. It replaces manual labor by controlling Aerators and Auto-Feeders based on real-time data received from the SEN nodes.

Key Feature: Cloud-logic integration to trigger oxygenation only when DO levels drop, optimizing energy usage.

NFN-LR Series (Laser Repellent)

The "Shield" of the Farm.

An automated predator deterrent system utilizing computer-controlled lasers.

Key Feature: Dual-axis servo mechanism (X/Y) with a high-power 520nm Green Laser to deter predatory birds without harming the ecosystem.

4. Shared Engineering Features

Across all devices (SEN, SW, LR), several engineering standards were implemented to ensure field reliability:

Internal Health Monitoring: Integrated DHT22 sensors inside every PCB enclosure to monitor internal temperature and humidity. This provides critical telemetry for troubleshooting overheating or moisture ingress (seal failures) remotely.
Robust Enclosures: Designed with IP65-rated waterproof boxing and "Ring Buoy" floating structures for stability in turbulent water.
Fail-Safe Power: Dual-power capability supporting both Solar (DC) and Grid (AC-to-DC) inputs.
