Introduction
The Sun, known as Surya Dev in Sanatan Dharma, is the primary source of energy and life on Earth, which is called Dharti Maa in our tradition. Scientifically, the Sun is a massive sphere of extremely hot gases, mainly hydrogen and helium. It is about 4.6 billion years old and lies nearly 1.5 × 10⁸ kilometers away from Earth. The Sun has a radius of about 696,000 kilometers (almost 109 times that of Earth), a mass of about 2 × 10³⁰ kilograms (around 333,000 times the mass of Earth), and a surface temperature of nearly 5,800 kelvin.
