Globalisation has united the world and made it more prosperous. It has also offered humans a glimpse of their real potential. Rāma Rājya is a natural progression of the movement. It is the realisation of the infinite potential.
An ideal world is inward-looking, where one sees the entire universe as part of himself. Only when growth is driven by the outward-looking petty ego, disequilibrium or adharma comes about.
Rāma Rājya is natural social equilibrium. If everyone practiced their svadharma, social equilibrium would already exist. All that one has to do is to live life to the fullest by pursuing the puruṣārthas of dharma, artha, kāma and mokṣa. When one does that, he and the society achieve equilibrium simultaneously. It frees society from the bane of cut-throat competition.
Rāma Rājya cannot be achieved through a top-down approach. Every individual has work towards realising the true Self. To enable him to turn inward, a facilitating agency is required. Therefore, a Parallel Government to complement the efforts of the present system, by addressing the gaps therein, is necessary. It would consist of the cream of thought leaders who would uphold the objectives of a natural self-realised society.
These enlightened individuals would be those who have tried and tested the ego-driven path to growth and have seen its limitations. It cannot make one complete. Therefore, such people would set the goal of mokṣa or freedom and pioneer the new order of Rāma Rājya.
When one subdues the petty ego, he sees that the world is akin to a stage on which he plays various roles, donning different masks. Therefore, Rāma Rājya citizens would be more efficient, since they would be of easily adaptable nature. While they will pursue a self-reliant life, they will continue to support the existent economy as their karma yoga. They will employ, and buy equipment from, people who are still bound by samsara. This interaction (market) will be based on human values of empathy, compassion and so on. Therefore, it will lead to general welfare.
The Parallel Government will work to help people connect deeper with each other and enable them to discover the natural governance structure. It will foster institutions and platforms to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and enable the rise of thought leaders right from the village up to the global level.
By combining the best of rural and urban ways of living, the Parallel Government will eventually make way for the rise of the ideal rurban republics. In due course, the perfect global co-operative system will evolve where everyone has their own role to play in making life comfortable for mankind as a whole and through it become eligible to receive jṅāna that is mokṣa.
In evolution, natural social order itself is designed to enable every individual to attain the greatest objective of freedom for an effective and useful existence, contributing to world’s progress.
Society is already organised with its diverse groups structured within it. These groups form systems within society working towards a common goal --that of harmonious co-existence.
In this natural organisation, small, individual parts seamlessly integrate into larger social structures, such as the family, clan and village. These individuals and structures become self-sustained entities contributing creatively to society.
Any organisation can grow only when people associated with it support its development. Therefore, any individual who aspires to be part of the social order must receive education that makes one self-sustained and self-reliant. Knowledge is really the wisdom of infinity, of the fact that one is complete in himself. Rāma Rājya education imparts one with this insight.
The family, being the basic unit of society, nurtures the individual from the time of birth till he becomes self-sustaining. Parents take care of their children and provide the initial care and nourishment. Home education endows the individual with the understanding that work is but a spiritual discipline.
Such a person, who sees that knowledge and work is for the sake of his own self culture, would be a perfect fit in society since he would be satisfied with whatever he is paid voluntarily in return for his creative contributions.
The Rāma Rājya society provides for all. It is unity in diversity. One has enough autonomy of being absolutely free. At the same time, he plays his small role in the world--giving, taking and competing. It is all just akin to a game.
Diverse individuals and families come together, in different combinations and permutations, to form a self-reliant village. Through their unique comparative advantage, they in turn begin contributing to the nation. Similarly, different nations come together to form a global system to support one another and try to keep humanity together.
All individuals are not alike. Everyone has a unique role and is therefore important in his respective place. Outgrowing responsibilities and assuming additional responsibilities are natural and the system provides for this growth as well.
But the work itself is not the goal. Driven by the quest for absolute freedom, the individual would seek the company of those leaders in his trade, who would naturally be part of his own clan and guild, who have achieved absolute beatitude. This would not only ensure his rise in his career but also towards mokṣa.
As individuals do their work, the family would be the initial team and then the clan, the village, the nation and thus eventually one would be an integral part of the whole world.
Indeed, when that happens--when one sees the world within himself and himself in the world-- that indeed is true freedom. It makes one full and complete.
