教会の紹介
洛陽教会の思い
わたしたちの教会は、1890年5月18日、当時の「日本組合基督教会」に加盟する教会として創立された「日本基督教団」に所属する教会で、創立131年を迎えました。
現在の教会堂は、創立当初から数えて三度目のもので、教会建築に造詣の深かったＷ．Ｍ．ヴォーリズの伝統を引き継いだヴォーリズ建築設計事務所の設計により1988年9月に献堂されました。
寺町通の正面玄関入口よりロビーに入ると、右端の窓に「預言者エレミヤ～真実の語りかけ～」のステンドグラスが、まず目に留まります。原画は伊庭新太郎画伯によるもので、1989年に新会堂建設と共に設置されました。何ものにも媚びることなく、神の真実を語り続けた預言者エレミヤの静かな祈りと闘志を豊かに伝えてくれています。
礼拝堂では、毎日曜の午前10時30～主日礼拝が執り行われます。共に御言葉に聞き、賛美の歌を歌い、祈りをささげましょう。礼拝にはどなたでもお越しになれます。聖書、讃美歌も受付で貸し出しがあり、はじめての方でも安心して礼拝に参加出来ます。
二階は礼拝堂のギャラリーのほかに、祈祷室や会議室などがあり、小集会用に活用されています。さらに、地階には、大ホールを中心に、厨房や小部屋などがあります、そして、この三つのフロアーをつなぐために、エレベーターがあり、車椅子でこられる人も自由に出入りできるようになっています。レインボールームは、子どもたちの本が数多く備えられており、小さいお子さんが安心して過ごすことの出来る場所となっています。毎週金曜日の午前中に開放されていますので、是非、来てみて下さい。
この他、各種音楽会や諸集会、様々な団体の活動の拠点になっています。
このように、私たちの教会は、特定の信徒の方々のみならず、どなたにも開かれた教会であるようにと願って、今の教会堂が建てられました。
そして、何より、私たちの教会はキリストの体であり、また一人一人はその部分なので、
一つの部分が苦しめば全ての部分がともに苦しみ、一つの部分が尊ばれれば全ての部分が
ともに喜びたいと願うのです。
Introduction to
Rakuyo Church, United Church of Christ in Japan
Our church was established on May 18,1890 as one affiliated to the old Congregational Church of Christ in Japan, made to belong to the United Church of Christ in Japan which was the further inclusive union of churches afterwards on June 24,1941, and has been kept as such until today. Therefore, the 131st anniversary has come at the point of May, 2021.
The present church (hall), which has been designed by Vories Construction Design Office inheriting the name and the art of church building of W.M. Vories who was an expert of the art, then built and dedicated in September, 1988, is the third (re)construction counting from the point of establishment.
When you come in the hall through the main entrance facing the Teramachi Street into the lobby; first of all you will see a stained glass picture drawing “Jeremiah the Prophet” on the window at the right-hand side there.
In the sanctuary, we hold worship services every Sunday morning from 10:30. Let us hear the Good News from the Bible, praise God, and pray together. All people are invited to join the worship service. There are Bibles and Hymnals for the visitors to use. So, the first time visitors can participate in the service without ay worries.
On the second floor, there are a prayer room and a conference room other than the gallery of the chapel, being available for minor events and meetings; on the base floor, there is a centered large dining/conference room surrounded by an attached kitchen and an extra room. An elevator connects these three floors to the full convenience of wheelchair users. We have set up the room on the base floor called "Rainbow room." There are many children's books available for everybody. This is a room where small children can spend time freely and safely. It is open every Friday morning.
Not limited to Sunday services kept in the morning time of the days, the chapel is available for a variety of musical events and meetings on weekdays; similarly; the basement conference room is applied as the meeting-acting place of various organizations and groups.
We have built up the present hall intending our church to be an OPEN one, not only for specific/registered believers but also for all the people including outsiders.
Our church is the body of Christ and individually members of it. Therefore, we pray that if one suffers, all suffer together with it; if one is honored, all rejoice together with it.
