Beyond research, I am passionate about travelling, exploring local cuisine and then making an amateur attempt at cooking them. I was born in the city of joy, the culinary capital of India, Kolkata and moved to the United States for my PhD. My mom is still highly skeptical of my cooking skills, but I refuse to give up.

The two people without whom my life would have been incomplete. A huge thank you to you for being there whenever I needed you. RIP Dad.

South India, May 2019

Had an invited talk at IISC, Banglaore. Took this opportunity to take my mom to see the famous Venkateswara temple at Tirumala, Tirupati. Phones and cameras are not allowed anywhere close to the temple premises, so I had take this picture from the internet (https://www.indiatvnews.com).

Tried the spicy Andhra curry for the first time! Super delicious and super hot (even for me!).

Washington DC, Dec 2018

Back to glamorous and charming DC for AGU 2018! This was my first oral presentation on a big stage like AGU fall meeting, so was pretty nervous about it. I am so looking forward to coming back and living here for my post-doc!

Hyatt Tamaya Resort, NM, Aug 2018

Had the worst possible start to a trip, lost my backpack and documents at the airport. Wouldn't have even made it to the COMPRES meeting without the help and support of the awesome officer on duty at the airport.

The food alone is enough reason for one to come back to the state. Anything about this journey would be incomplete without thanking my adviser and the Geo department staff at Princeton.

New Orleans, LA, Dec 2017

My favorite fall meeting venue so far! The buzzing nightlife and the live street concerts at the French quarters were amazing. The deep-fried food was delectable. Had my first taste of alligator! I would love to come back here specially during Mardi Gras.
