CE Hours- 6.0
This course will invite you to look at the ways your practice could transform and align to serve the collective. This course will focus on strategies and modalities that offer liberation within body, community and culture. Our bodies hold trauma rooted in oppression. "Collective trauma is transformed collectively", in the words of Cara Page. In order to transform collectively, we must follow the lead of those most impacted by oppression. This course will invite us to remember the resiliency strategies of our lineages, community and somatic techniques to support ourselves and eachother. We will explore the history of Healing Justice, as a compass to inform our future and our present role as practitioners within the larger framework of the movement for collective liberation.

Thai massage is an ancient modality with its roots in Northern India, Buddhism and Ayurveda. It is referred to as yoga for royalty, since the recipient gets the benefits of yoga without the effort. Its original purpose was to support the spiritual practitioners of the community to prepare the body for meditation. The students will learn a 90 minute meditative flow that combines assisted stretching, acupressure, and compression to improve flexibility and balance the body’s energy by dissolving blockages and alleviating stress. Thai Massage can support the students into their current practice, is adaptable to the table, and employs body mechanics that will support the longevity and endurance of their practice. Students can take the initial class just to get a basic introduction and overview of the history and principles of Thai Massage and receive 3 CE hours. Or they can take all four classes for 12 CE hours. They can also take a 2 hour practicum and receive feedback and personalized support as well as an additional 2 CE hours.

This class will be addressing the topics of how to embody anti racism, release internalized oppressive beliefs around fat phobia, trans phobia and ableism- being blind to folks with disabilities and nuerodiversity. We will begin by creating community agreements to step into a brave space together to be able to dive inwards. Then we will go over definitions to get onto the same page and then we will have an ice breaker to connect before diving into some vulnerable discussions and dialogues. And we will end with personal commitments to continuing the work.
