Connecting the "head" and "heart" spaces
SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) programmes aim to foster the development of five interrelated sets of emotional, cognitive and behavioural competencies which provide children a foundation for social relationships and academic achievement, as evidenced by more positive social behaviours, fewer conduct problems, less emotional distress, and improved test scores (Greenberg et al. 2003).
At Rainbow Connection, we engage and support children, parents, caregivers and primary school educators to shift mindsets, perceptions and learning practices with SEL using the five interrelated competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
