From September 23 to 28, 2024, I attended a hackathon titled "Regional Workshop on Multi-Hazard Risk Modelling: Integrating Modelling, Visualization, and Regional Collaboration for Multi-Hazard Risks in the Hindu Kush Himalayas," organized by ICIMOD in Kathmandu, Nepal. This hackathon focused on discussing the types of hazard interactions in the HKH, including cascading, compounding, and amplifying hazards. The goal of this hackathon was to propose a Multi-Hazard Risk Assessment (MHRA) framework, outline the purpose of multi-hazard (MH) modeling, and define a way forward with MHRA goals until 2025.
