Line x tester mating design is an extension of top cross method which involves hybridization between lines and wide-based testers. The design uses inbred lines as the base population

Heritability is a statistic used in the fields of breeding and genetics that estimates the degree of variation in a phenotypic trait in a population that is due to genetic variation between individuals in that population. Often, this term is used in reference to the resemblance between parents and their offspring.
