Mechanical Info & Updates

Engine - Only 90k original miles.

  • Engine compression was taken and all pistons / rings had good compression based on service manual specs.

  • Turbos Replaced - Both turbos were replaced with standard 9B turbos that matched the factory specs. These have 50 miles on them!

  • Oxygen Sensors Replaced - Both oxygen sensors were replaced.

  • Spark Plugs & Wires Replaced - All spark plugs and wires replaced.


Transmission

  • Output Shaft replaced - A new 300m hardened output shaft was put into the transmission.

  • Bearings - New bearings were placed in transmission at ends of core shafts that hold all gears.

  • Clutch / Pressure Plate / Throwout Bearing - all new with 50 miles.


Brakes

  • Brake pads & rotors - All rotors and pads were replaced.

  • Struts - All struts were replaced.


Paint

  • The car has never been in any major accidents to my knowledge and has a clean title. The paint was ok when I purchased it, but did have some dents (size if dimes) here and there, and the clear coats was less than perfect. I painted the entire vehicle, wet sanded the paint, and have restored the paint to a glass finish.

Interior

  • Targa Top - The Targa top was originally installed by Dustin P who modified the underbody with additional reinforcement to support the removable Targa top. I have owned a Spyder and the Targa is stronger than the original Spyder. When placing my Spyder on the car lift, the body flexes enough that the doors would not open / close smoothly. The Targa with additional reinforcement does NOT flex and the doors open / close smoothly. Additional quick latches from a Mazda RX7 allow the top to be removed and added quickly. The top is from a Spyder and is solid.

  • Seats & Interior - have been restored to their original condition. The seats are charcoal grey. the dash and door panels are a lighter tan / white.

  • Dash Gauges - have been updated to be white with Blue / Green night light colors.
