After the successful first and second Malaysian VLBI Workshop held in Kuala Lumpur in 2019 and 2022, a third meeting on the advances the VLBI situation in the country after three years was held in 2024. The 15th East Asian VLBI Workshop took place at The Grand Beach Resort, Port Dickson on 28th October until 1st November 2024. This event was in conjunction with 3rd Malaysian VLBI Workshop and 5th UM-NARIT Bilateral Symposium.
Universiti Malaya and the Luminous Transient Phenomena in the Atmosphere (LTPA) Observer Project, Italy, recently launched an upgraded online monitoring system as part of their collaboration.
The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has successfully concluded its 377th Symposium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from February 6th to 10th, 2023. In collaboration with Universiti Malaya and Planetarium Negara, the event marks the first time that Malaysia hosted an IAU conference and the first in Southeast Asia since 1990.
