Each race was live streamed on my Twitch channel. Each event was presented with the appropriate broadcast overlays and logos including B-roll footage.
As I was driving within Virtual Reality (with a Valve Index), footage was shown of my cockpit with a webcam also showing my feet operating the pedals.
So no action was missed, trackside cameras were shown and courtesy of an Auto Camera Plugin I was able to show possible crashes or overtakes.
With a mixture of the Advanced Scene Switcher for OBS and Touch Portal I could automate most of the scene changes and extra details all while I was within the VR headset.
This season was run during 2021 and 2022. During the season I raised awareness for Mental Health and money for my chosen charity Rethink Mental Illness.
"We improve the lives of people severely affected by mental illness through our network of local groups and services, expert information and successful campaigning. Our goal is to make sure everyone severely affected by mental illness has a good quality of life."
Donations page can be seen here.
I included donation milestones and rewards that would help or hinder my season to encourage fundraising and to also spice things up.
1979 Formula mod (with a few custom adjustments added).
27 total drivers on track (including me). If tracks did not support this many pit spaces then the maximum number from championship order would be used.
Renaults were excluded from the season because I found a bug in their gearing which meant they were too slow away from the grid and this caused AI collisions.
I developed a way of choosing a team for my season based on D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) rules and dice rolls.
This was done live on stream and more details of how it was done are here

100% (minimum), strength would only be increased if it was too weak. Also an increase depending on a charity donation milestone,
Not shown or penalised as the I didn't think they were used in 1979. Also the AI in rFactor 2 wouldn't necessarily adhere to them anyway.
Broadcast on a Saturday for 30 to 45 minutes with no maximum lap count.
Depending on charity donation milestones, there may have been grid penalties to apply.
Broadcast on a Sunday at 100% distance based on the track location and layout. If the track was never used in Formula 1 then the distance was judged on the track length and laptime so that races were between 1 hr 30 mins and 2 hours in total duration.
