Michael Brown

In 2014, Michael Brown and a friend were walking down the street in Ferguson, Missouri when police encountered them. Minutes later, then 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed. Brown suffered at least seven gunshot wounds. His body laid in the street for over four hours until it was finally removed.

Ferguson police officer, Darren Wilson, fired the fatal shots at Michael Brown. Wilson did not have criminal charges brought against him for the murder of Michael Brown. A grand jury found that Wilson's actions were justified.

In an interview with George Stephanopoulos, Darren Wilson explains his side of the story.

In response to the death of Michael Brown, rapper J. Cole released a song called "Be Free". In a statement announcing the release, Cole said the main reason for this song was because he was tired of seeing black people getting killed. Today, this song has become a theme for Black Lives Matter protests. Please take a listen and hopefully it will impact you the same way it did for myself and many others.
