Career Goal Narrative

I started to become interested in engineering towards the beginning  of middle school. My friends and family have never been in the field of engineering. I hope to be be the first person in my family to become an engineer.  At first, I wanted to be an Architectural Engineer,  but after researching the different kinds of engineering, I decided to become an Mechanical Engineer.  Mechanical Engineers plan and is similar to robotics. Mechanical engineers make at least 65k to 140k a year. This career interests me because I'm into technology and having the ability to program. In the future, I hope to be able to create something to make the world more efficient, but nothing to tear the world apart.

In my home high school, Leonardtown High, I slowly increase the amount of AP/Honors classes I take every year.  Currently, none of the classes I take have nothing to do with engineering. I am taking my chances to enroll in SEAP (Science and Engineering Apprentice Program) to help assist in obtaining my dream of becoming an Mechanical Engineer. So far, I have slowly started to write more professional at the tech center.  Eventually, my writing will be more professional as I continue to be present at the tech center. 

I have participated in some extracurricular activities. At the end of my middle school years, I joined an after school dance team, which helped boost my confidence of performing in front of a bunch of people. Back when I was in elementary school, I was apart of a robotics club. This showed me how to work in a group the right way. Teamwork gets things done faster and sometimes gets them done more successfully. During the summer break of 2023, I joined another robotics camp. This camp taught me how to get things done successfully by myself without giving up.  In the future, this camp would have helped me in my career choice. I have never been employed, but I hope to be employed soon to make money and save up for college.

I do not plan to join the military because I want to focus more on myself as I get older. A College will be one of my goals throughout my life or a university. I would to earn all degrees that I must have to be able to get a job and earn money. Attending a 4 year college or university will be apart of my plans for after high school, I must attend all four years no matter how expensive it is. Attending a trade school is not apart of my plans, but if it gives extra training for a specific job, I will give it a try.  Becoming an apprentice was also not apart of my plans in the future, but it gives you a learning experience from a skilled employer. Being apart of the workforce will be apart of my plans in the future. My plans will change as time passes by. I will change my training/education than where I started from in the beginning.

After achieving my career goal, there will be a chance that the community will be better than it was before I achieved my career goal. Hopefully, society will become better and nothing else will make it worse. I will make a positive impact on the world  when I attain my dream or dreams. As I continue to achieve my future career, I will have a greater chance at making a difference.
