Hi, I'm Rachael!
I moved my site to rachaelchew.com!
I love to learn.Â
I will learn anything I can get my hands on -
from machine learning algorithms to geneticsÂ
to understanding an individual
I love channelling my energy into understanding the why of things
to get an intuition of how it works
I'm fascinated byÂ
the space between knowing and not knowing
the breath between opening and closing
the roaring stillness of the mind
I have experience in 12 roles across 5 countries.Â
I'm a Computer Science and Neuroscience major at Minerva University.
From 2021-2025, I will be living and studying in 7 cities around the world.
Why this path?
Here's my story.
When I was 12, I watched my mum take her last breath.
Witnessing her lose her 7-year battle to breast cancer instilled in me an urgency to confront lifeʼs fragility and live a good life.Â
But what did that mean?
Over the next decade, I embarked on a journey to discover the essence of a good life. I delved into philosophy, devoted myself to community service, and became a sponge for knowledge.Â
My insatiable curiosity led me to take a gap year after high school, an exploration not just of industries, but of human motivation and purpose.
This gap year was transformative.
I tried out 7 different jobs, organised a mental health conference for 3,000 participants, Â and interviewed 100 changemakers across 40 countries. Their narratives reshaped my worldview, illuminating the symbiotic relationship between individual aspirations and global impact. This made me realise that
From conducting Machine Learning cancer research in New York City and Buenos Aires, and from driving product strategies in a Taipei startup to programming in a neuroscience lab in India — this exploration has been the compass for my journey, weaving together tech, AI, and a deeper human understanding.
I haven't found all my answers, but I've learned to root my adventures in abundance and authenticity. I hope to offer my relentless curiosity and energy, and passion for AI and ML.
From 2021-2025 as a computer science and neuroscience undergraduate at Minerva University, i'm venturing through industries, people, and cultures across 7 global cities. With a multidisciplinary lens, I aim to create tech solutions that resonate not just with logic, but with the heart.
