Mirrœthian Magic

**Mirrœthian magic is based on Modal Vibrational Phenomena (more specifically, Cymatics). Therefore, all forms of magic (excluding the supernatural) will be universally referred to as Modal Magic and/or Modal Forces.

**A general rule of thumb: Everything in Mirrœthia has a unique modal frequency or Sonant Signature, from Pyrrhus (Fire) Plants to sentient life-forms such as Humans and Daemons. As an added note: It is common for two (or more) to have "harmonic frequencies;" however, it is rare for two (or more) to have "identical frequencies."

Mirrœthian Magic Types

In the world of Mirrœthia, there are four major types of Modal Magic / Modal Forces:

Biological Modal Forces

Biological Modal Forces (BMFs) refer to the unique modal frequencies of living organisms. Due to their uniqueness, BMFs can be manipulated to mimic or "echo" ecological energies, thereby reproducing the effects of fundamental elements (i.e., magic). In a few Mirroethian religions, BMFs are considered akin to what one would call the "soul" or the "spirit" of an individual.

Biological Modal Forces (BMFs) also go by the terms of:

Heartsong

Ecological Modal Magic

Ecological Modal Forces (EMFs) refer to the universal constant of the fundamental elements. Due to their consistency, EMFs can be reliably reproduced, either in nature or by BMFs/AMFs/RMFs mimicking or "echoing" their frequency.

The Ecological Modal Forces (EMFs) are as follows:

Pyrrhus (Fire)
Neros (Water)
Auroros (Wind)
Adamos (Earth)
Elektron (Electric)
Phos (Light)
Umbra (Dark)

Artificial Modal Forces

Artificial Modal Forces (AMFs) refer to the manufactured frequencies of various technologies and machines. Since AMFs are not of natural origin, they can easily mimic or "echo" biological and ecological energies.

Additionally, AMFs can even recreate arcane powers (though, at a minimal level, as current technologies exist).

Runic Modal Magic

Runic Modal Forces (RMFs) refer to the universal instability of the arcane elements. Due to their chaos and inconsistency, RMFs cannot be reliably reproduced by either nature or BMFs. However, AMFs come closest to mimicking or "echoing" the inherent madness.

The Runic Modal Forces (RMFs) are as follows:

Aether (Prime)
Nether (Void)
Ambrosia (Divine)
Null

Elemental strengths and weaknesses adhere to a slightly different set of rules, often falling in favor of the practitioner whose skill, knowledge, and creative use of applications of their abilities. In short, the 8 Truths of Modal Magic can be turned on its head.

In the world of Mirrœthia, there is something known as the Eight Truths of Modal Magic:

Pyrrhus controls the flow of Auroros
Auroros gives direction to Elektron
Elektron scorches Adamos
Adamos absorbs Neros
Neros dowses Pyrrhus
Phos reproaches the Umbra; likewise, the Umbra consumes Phos
Aether occupies the Nether; likewise, Nether dissipates the Aether into nothingness
Ambrosia guides all that is below; likewise, Null directs all that is above
