Team PRAYAS is Surat's trusted full-cycle animal welfare organization, dedicated to ending suffering for both animals and humans across our city. Over the years, our mission has been simple: to replace fear with care, and conflict with peaceful coexistence.
Our involvement in this cause is rooted in a deep understanding of Surat's neighbourhoods.
From our dedicated veterinary professionals to passionate field volunteers, every member of Team PRAYAS is driven by a shared vision: a city where people and community Indie dogs live side by side in safety and mutual respect.

Turning a Global Goal into a Reality for Surat
Team PRAYAS bridges global veterinary standards with daily neighborhood action across Surat. Through partnerships with Mission Rabies and Rotary Clubs, we work to make the city safer for both people and animals through 3 major ways:
Mass Vaccination: Through ZeroBy30, we aim to vaccinate dogs against rabies area by area, ensuring doses are given yearly.
Data Tracking: We digitally record and map vaccinated dogs, creating a clear record of vaccination and helping societies track their progress.
THE FRIENDSHIP PROJECT: We work with housing societies, schools, and clubs to educate people on dog behaviour, safety standards, and community collaboration.

I’m Sanchita, a family content creator and animal welfare volunteer who has been associated with Team Prayas for almost a decade, working primarily around dog adoptions, awareness and community engagement.
