Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Mumbai City Museum

Access/Tickets: ₹10/- for Indians; ₹100/- for foreigners.

What to see: Antiquities and models depicting the history and industry of the Bombay Presidency. Established in 1872 as the erstwhile Victoria & Albert Museum of Bombay.

Mani Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya

Address: old-style, two storied building at 19 Laburnum Road, Gamdevi – 400007.

Access/Tickets: ₹40/- for foreigners; Indians can pay whatever they like into a donation box

Timings: Open on all the days of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 05:30 p.m.

What to see: Artefacts belonging to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, and an exhibition depicting Gandhiji’s life through miniature figures.

Reserve Bank of India Monetary Museum

Archdiocesan Heritage Museum

Design Museum Dharavi

Acworth Leprosy Museum

Aai Museum

Address: Within The Orchid Hotel, 70/C, Nehru Road, Adjacent to Domestic Airport, Vile Parle (E) – 400099.

Access/Tickets: Currently restricted to hotel guests. Group tours can be arranged by prior appointment.

Timings: 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What to see: Artefacts used in the daily lives of housewives, collected by Dr. Kamat. The main museum has moved to Fort Jadhavgad, Pune.

FD Alpaiwalla Museum
