RAAM is a team sport. We don't suggest that riding 3,000 miles is easy. But real success depends on a crew that is well prepared and functions well even when you have to deal with unexpected situations at 3 am.
"A strong crew will not necessarily ensure winning RAAM, but a dysfunctional crew will for sure lead to loosing the race."

John Crean is a serial entrepreneur. He started his first company at age 30 in Europe, after working in the investment banking business. He returned to the U.S. and started a company in the wine business in California and co-ran that company for 9 years. After that he started a non-profit focused on providing an equity-based financing alternative to subsidized housing for low and middle income first time home buyers. Ten years ago, he purchased Sonoma Creamery, a now 90-year old artisan cheese maker located in Sonoma, CA. He grew the business to become a market leader in crunchy cheese snacks.
Road cycling is his biggest hobby, followed by masters swimming and dirt bike trail riding. He fell in love with the challenge of long distance cycling, the comradeship and the adventure.
In 2013 he lead a 4-man RAW team that won their division and came in 2nd overall. He is looking forward to RAAM as a major bucket list lifetime challenge.
