The human-animal bond is a sacred relationship that is intrinsically tied to the history of humanity and civilization. I believe that animal companionship is not a luxury, nor should it be treated as such. All humans - regardless of socioeconomic status, citizenship, race, gender, or sexuality - are deserving of the healing powers of animal companionship. This is why, upon the conclusion of the first series of in-person Quiet Collateral workshops, all extra supplies will be donated to local homeless shelters. Every person who has a pet should be supported to give their pet the best life possible, no matter what situation they are in. Humans must return to community support systems - build the village you want to live in.
Engage community members to learn about the ways in which disaster impacts pets and pet owners, and provide participants with resources and knowlege on disaster preparedness and prevention.
Connect community members with local organizations working in the many different aspects of animal rescue and welfare.
Bring visibility and aid to rescue organizations working in disaster zones around the world.
