QUELL Privacy Policy

QUELL ("the app") is created by Steppe Summit Studio ("we", "us"). We built QUELL to be private by design. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
Summary
- Your data is stored on your device, not on our servers.
- We do not require an account or a sign up.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use third party advertising or analytics trackers.
- Some optional AI features send information to our AI provider only when you use them, and only if you have AI features turned on.
Information you create in the app
QUELL lets you log information such as your moods, spending and purchases, savings and resisted purchases, want list items, worth it checks, notes, optional first name, currency, and your preferences. This information is stored locally on your device using Apple frameworks. We do not have access to it.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos, or device identifiers for tracking. We do not include third party advertising or analytics software in the app.
Optional AI features
QUELL includes optional AI features such as the coach, insights, predictions, and the pre purchase second opinion. These features are powered by Anthropic (the Claude API). When, and only when, you use an AI feature with AI features enabled in Settings, the app sends to Anthropic the message you type to the coach and a compact, summarized view of your patterns (for example, totals and averages) so the AI can generate a response. Raw entry lists are not sent. This information is processed to return your result and is not used to train AI models. You can turn AI features off at any time in Settings, which keeps everything fully on your device. Anthropic processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Subscriptions and purchases
QUELL offers an optional paid subscription, QUELL Pro. Purchases, billing, and renewals are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple processes purchase information under Apple's privacy policy.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, QUELL schedules local notifications on your device. These are created on device and are not sent through our servers.
Face ID and app lock
If you enable the optional app lock, authentication is handled by Apple on your device. We never see your biometric data.
Data storage, security, and retention
Because your data lives on your device, its security is tied to your device and your iOS settings. You control how long your data is kept. You can delete all of your data at any time using Reset All Data in Settings, or by deleting the app, which removes the data stored on your device.
Your choices
- Turn AI features on or off in Settings.
- Delete all of your data with Reset All Data in Settings.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple account settings.
Children's privacy
QUELL is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new date above.
