For our February event, we are partnering with the Westside Queer Resource Center, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Queer+ community in and around Washington County, Oregon. Join us for a morning stroll at Fernhill Wetlands to see wintering waterfowl and explore 700 acres in Forest Grove. This wetland is owned by Clean Water Services and used for water resources management. Our meeting location will be outside the visitor station.
Parking is free, however, the lot does fill up, so we suggest carpooling. If you're planning to take public transportation, take line 57 to Pacific Hwy and Maple; walk or bike about a mile south on Maple St, which becomes Fern Hill Road when it crosses TV Highway (there are sidewalks most of the way).

Come explore Malheur National Wildlife Refuge and look for golden eagles, sage grouse, and rosy finches. Established in 1908 to protect migratory waterfowl, the refuge today encompasses over 187,000 acres, which is a stop along the Pacific Flyway. This is an important area for resting, breeding, and nesting migratory birds and other wildlife.
Lodging is at the Malheur Field Station in the Pelican Cabin. The capacity is 9 people and unfortunately no pets allowed.
The cost for two nights is around $70 per person with 100% of the ticket fee going towards lodging. Unfortunately, tickets will be non-refundable and sale will be final.
