The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is an opportunity for students to participate in paid employment for up to six weeks in July and August.
Participants work in entry-level jobs in a variety of industries
and receive an educational component to support the work experience.
Please reach out to QNSTCAC@schools.nyc.gov for the most up to date SYEP information.

We are excited to announce that the 2026 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) application period is now open! Students can apply through the following link: https://application.nycsyep.com/. The application deadline has been extended to March 13th, 2026.
The Transition and College Access Centers (TCACs) partner with the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) to offer students with IEPs or 504 plans the opportunity to work and earn money during a six-week period between July 6 and August 15. Older youth (16-24) begin July 6th, Younger Youth (14-15) begin on July 13th.
Students enrolled with TCAC will receive additional support at their worksites from specialized staff.
To ensure students' applications are directed to TCAC, students must:
1. Answer, "Yes," to the questions "Do You Have a Disability" and "Do you Have an Individualized Education Program (IEP)?"
2. Enter school's DBN.
They do not need to answer the question about the referring agency, and there is no need for a PIN. If they follow these exact steps, they should only see two choices when asked to select a provider: NYC DOE TCAC or NYC DOE D75.
NYC DOE TCAC should be selected.

Students who do not follow the pathway outlined above will be directed to other organizations. To transfer an application from another organization to TCAC, we must receive a written request.
Students must check their emails frequently in order to respond promptly to a request to submit the required documentation online (see list attached) and link: https://application.nycsyep.com/DocumentLibrary.
They will only have a few days to comply.
We strongly encourage your students to start collecting their documents now!
We will enroll students with a complete application on a first come first served basis. An application is considered complete once a student submits all the required documents, except for the working papers and proof of Selective Service Registration, which can be uploaded later.
Your assistance to the students is vital in ensuring that they submit their application correctly and on time. We appreciate your collaboration. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Thank you to all of last year's student participants and community partners for a successful 2025 SYEP year!
