Make word walls and brainstorm words suited to each genre.
Time writing sessions for 40 minutes. Allow the child to "be the teacher" and look for errors.
Hear the teacher's voice as you write:
Do you have capital letters where they need to be?
Avoid starting sentences with 'and'.
Did you use dialogue appropriately?
