The QWGA (Quechee Women's Golf Association) is excited to kick off a new Mentoring Program. The program is for women who are new to golf, women looking to “refresh” their skills, or even newer players looking to build their confidence in a one-on-one situation. Most importantly, we want this experience to be FUN!
The time spent with a Mentor should be enjoyable and not stressful. The Mentors will walk you through certain rules of golf, stress the importance of pace of play, help you determine how to address certain shots, perhaps help in club selection and, depending on their comfort level, give you some very basic tips about your swing. That being said…we cannot stress enough the importance of taking lessons from one of our wonderful golf professionals which will add so much to your Mentoring experience.
To sign up to be a MENTOR please follow the below steps:
Download “TeamSnap” for your iPhone or Android.
Sign up with your email address.
Select your role as “Team Member” and then “Looking for Your Team” and then put in the email address for Kelly Short (kellyshort13@me.com). Please be sure to include your full name on the signature line.
Once Kelly receives your email, she will add you as a “Manager” to the “QWGA Mentoring Team”.
Accept the invite which you will receive via email from TeamSnap, create a password, and add your cell phone number to create an account. When you sign in the next time, it is encouraged for you to “allow notifications”.
You will then want to make a tee time by calling the pro-shop (unless it is within a few days, and you wish to do it online). T.J., Curt, or Dustin can add in tee times ahead of the normal 8-day advance window to ensure that the Mentor’s time is held for them.
The final step is to go back to the TeamSnap app, toggle to “Schedule”, tap the “+” sign in the top right-hand corner, and select “Add Event”. You can post as “Mentoring with (your first and last name)”, select day/time and select course (we have to choose a location in order to add an event, but can always change courses if need be).
We recommend closing and re-opening the app whenever changes are made as they do not appear in “real time” on the app.
