Cardigan Mountain State Park: 658 Cardigan Mountain Road, Orange, NH - The state park spans 5,655 acres and is an excellent area for hiking. A mountain road leads to trails on the west slope of Mount Cardigan as well as a trail to the summit which is a 3 121-foot treeless granite summit with outstanding views of west central NH, with panoramic views that includes Mount Monadnock and the White Mountains, Camel Hump, Vt. And Pleasant Mountain in Maine.

VINS Nature Center (one of our favorites!): 149 Natures Wy, Quechee, Vt. Full of outdoor exhibits of Raptors, Songbird Aviary, Adventure Playscape, Nature trails, and the amazing Forest Canopy Walk. * The Quechee Library has free passes that are a first-come first-served basis.
Montshire Museum: Montshire Rd. Norwich, Vt. The Montshire is a really fun place with over 150 exhibits both indoors and out. This "fun for the whole family" desination is set on 100 acres located along the Connecticut River with spectacular views. They have outdoor trails but is also a fun place to spend the day whether the weather is good or not.
