Quartet Club is a community for musicians in Perth and WA who enjoy playing chamber music in small ensembles.

Our monthly play days provide an opportunity to explore the wonderful string quartet or, wind or combination quartet, trio, quintet, sextet, septet, nonet repertoire, to meet other musicians, and to discover potential musical partners.

The ultimate aim is not just to play together once a month, but to help members form their own chamber groups and enjoy making music together throughout the year. 

We are hugely grateful to Southcare for generously offering the use of their premises in Manning. 

How it works

We meet once a month for an informal afternoon of chamber music. 

During each play day, players move between different groups, giving everyone the opportunity to meet a variety of musicians and explore different repertoire.

Some groups may be sight-reading, while others may arrive with prepared music. As the club grows, we hope members will increasingly organise their own ensembles and repertoire.

Performance Opportunities

From time to time we'll present short, informal performances for each other and the local community.  These will be free to attend and advertised locally, by Southcare (who manage the premises where we meet). 

These are entirely optional, but provide a wonderful opportunity for those who enjoy performing to share their music in a relaxed and friendly setting.

Why I Started Quartet Club

I've always loved playing chamber music, but, since moving away from my old musical contacts in the UK, I found it surprisingly difficult to meet new like-minded musicians and form regular groups.

Since starting Quartet Club, I've realised I'm far from alone. Many players have told me they've had exactly the same experience.

My hope is that Quartet Club will become a place where musicians make new musical friends, share great repertoire, and find the people they'll continue making music with long after each play day has finished.
