The Quantum AI (QAI) research group was founded and led by Dr. Xing Liang and Prof. Dimitris Makris and officially launched in May 2025. Based within the School of Computer Science and Mathematics at Kingston University of London, the group is dedicated to advancing fundamental research at the intersection of  Machine Learning and Quantum Computing. 

Our primary focus lies in Quantum AI (QAI) - exploring how quantum algorithms and quantum hardware can be leveraged to enhance the capabilities of artificial intelligence. 

We apply AI and QAI algorithms to a range of applied domains.  Some of our key areas of interest include:
