Quark Summer Technical Projects (QSTP) is back in its 6th edition with a total of 25 projects spanning varied areas of study. For the first time, QSTP is offering projects in fields like Quantum Computing, Basics of Flight and Mechatronics among others. Being conducted in a completely online mode, QSTP offers a great opportunity to learn and interact with the experienced mentors from BITS Goa at the convenience of one's own. Completion of the project/course will award the participant with a 'Certificate of Completion'. Moreover, the top participants in each course shall be awarded with a 'Certificate of Excellence'.

All of these are offered free of charge to students of any year of study and in any college across India.

Intro to Stock Market Analysis

Equity Trading Strategies

Prerequisites : Basic knowledge of financial analysis and functioning of stock market.

Description :

This course will endeavour to make the participants understand the methods and tactics involved in trading and investment on the basis of existing knowledge of financial analysis.

Python 101

(Preference to students from BITS Goa)

Description :

Those who missed out on doing well in CP have a second chance to get into programming via a high level language. However, we want to clarify this course will focus on teaching logical thinking, basic OOP and how to convert thought into concrete code. Python is just a medium. Students having completed this course along with the mini-projects should be able to quickly pick up any other language too.

Intro to Blockchain

Description :

Through this QSTP, you will learn the basics of blockchain technology, the basics of cryptocurrencies and how the two most famous cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and Ethereum work. In the end, you will learn what it means to "code on the blockchain" by writing a simple smart contract and deploying it to the real Ethereum Blockchain.


Intro to Android Development

Description :

In the era of increasing demand of Mobile apps MAC brings to you course on Introduction to Android development. This course will aim on how to start building an app right from scratch, making multiscreen apps, with many functionalities. By the end of this course, you would be able to develop your own calculator app and would get the chance to work on quark 2020 app.


Data Analysis using R

Prerequisites : No prior knowledge of data science/analysis is required. However prior knowledge of algebra and statistics will be helpful.

Description :

The course is based on R concepts, analysis and processing of data in R through real life examples. We'll focus on building end to end predictive analysis in R. We'll take up projects based on text classification and anomaly detection.


Graphic Designing

With Graphic Designers being in so much demand in all kinds of companies and Adobe Photoshop being the foundation of Graphic Design, we see no reason for you to not apply for this course! This course gives an introduction to the Robot Operating System (ROS) and few of the commonly available tools that are used in robotics.You will learn how to create software simulations, to interface sensors, and to integrate control algorithms.


Intro to Mechatronics

Description :

This course will deal with Electronics and Mechanical Systems Design. It will provide a basic idea about the field of robotics. The main objective is to instill an interest in robotics in the participants.


Ethical Hacking and Computer Security

Prerequisites : Basics of coding (upto functions), basic linux commands (ls, mv, cp, cat, cd, etc)

The course will be about the different and vast areas of Computer Security. Curated content will be given to start from the basics of every field so as to get an idea of the field of interest. By the end, mentees will have a clear idea of different fields like Reverse engineering, Forensics, Web Security, Incidence Response and Networking.

Cryptography

This course aims introduce takers to both Theoretical and Applied Aspects of Cryptography, starting right from Classical version to the Post Quantum Version. Kindly note that Quantum Mechanics is not a pre-requisite of any kind to this course.


Quantum Computing

This course is an elementary introduction to a new and frontier multidisciplinary field of common interest to students of physics, computer science, mathematics, and engineering. Intro to CAD-SOLIDWORKS

Competitive Programming

Description :

The course will introduce students to some core competitive programming concepts and relevant data structures and algorithms will be taught with an emphasis on problems. This will introduce them to topics that are asked in coding tests and interviews conducted by companies during placements and internships. Each topic will have an extensive list of problems to solve and relevant editorials will also be uploaded. The focus on problems solving will help the students develop programming skills in C++, Python and Java.

Intro to IoT

Description :

The course begins with basics of electronics and programming the Arduino/ESP microcontrollers proceeding to various sensors available and their characteristics and Interfacing with the aforementioned microcontrollers. Finally, we dive into various communication methodologies, discussing MQTT Protocol in detail and implemeting all these in our final project.


Intro to Aerodynamics: Basics of Flight

This course deals with the development in flying machines through the ages; with things as primitive as the Wright Flyer to as modern as a jetliner. This course will talk about how these flying machines got bigger and better. Theory of Relativity

Prerequisites: School level mechanics and calculus. Basic knowledge of linear algebra.

Description:

Theory of Relativity will be introduced at a very normie level. Mathematical foundation will be laid, eventually approaching advanced concepts. We will explain things mathematically rather than following popular clickbaits. Most part will be Special Relativity, though we will try to touch General Relativity depending on your interest
