John S. Armstrong Gallery

Located inside Q's Art & Frame Shop is the newly established gallery featuring original artwork by Q's owner, John S. Armstrong.  

John Armstrong's desire to create started with building little houses out of mud and dried grass when he was five years old. He has continued to build things throughout his life. Armstrong gravitated toward watercolor painting in 2007 and then grew into oil painting. Oil painting is his preferred medium, but he continues to work in watercolor on a weekly basis. He has studied and painted with talented artists including Mike Capser, Loren Entz, Connie Herberg, Elliott Eaton, Barbara Garrett, Les Lindell, Tyler Murphy, Dick Moulden, Joi Ostefjellse, and PJ Smith. 

Armstrong has found painting to be an endeavor that can be continued long into old age, as well as stress relieving and therapeutic. He has come to realize that he is a social painter who enjoys plein air groups and weekly painting sessions with good friends. He cannot count how many friends he has made through painting.
