The 2025 QRA ADM field trip will be to Blast Beach in County Durham.
The area has a rich geological history, with coal-bearing Carboniferous rocks, Permian Magnesian Limestone formed during the Zechstein Cycle, and glacial deposits from the last ice age. There is also a legacy of mining during the last century, with rock waste from underground mines dumped on the beach from Seaham to Blackhall.
