Below is information regarding each GD Division, including their respective SOP.
(D.G.)
The QPS Dog Squad is a specialist State-wide resource whose primary role is to provide support to all policing units in a wide variety of operations, from all types of searches to foot patrols, pursuits and rescues, whilst still remaining apart of a GD. They use highly trained German Shepherds to conduct day to day procedures and help combat drug crime, as well as assist other divisions in pursuits. The Dog Squad use some marked and some unmarked vehicles, ranging from a Toyota Hilux to an Amarok to a Ford Falcon.
Forensics (Crash and Crime) document and log a diverse number of calls, photographing MVA's, Deceased POI's, Officer involved shootings, Officer down calls and many more. They act in the capacity of normal GD officers, but have the resources and equipment to further investigate and log police scenes. Forensics regularly work along side CIB to help understand and investigate a range of situations. Forensics use Mobile Crime Lab Vans and trucks, Forensic Colorado's and many more vehicles.
