Quarry Ladies Golf Association
CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS
(Adopted January 1, 2017) (Amended January 1, 2022)
ARTICLE I — NAME
The name of this club is the Quarry Ladies Golf Association. (QLGA)
ARTICLE II — MISSION, VISION and OBJECTIVES
Mission: QLGA provides educational, competitive, and social opportunities to support and promote women’s amateur golf.
Vision: Our vision is to realize the potential of women’s golf through camaraderie, respect, integrity and sportsmanship.
Objectives:
1. To conduct regular play, competitive tournaments, and social activities in order to promote sportsmanship and good fellowship among our members.
2. Maintain uniformity within the interpretation of the rules of golf as well as the integrity of utilizing the golf handicap system.
3. Educate and mentor women for tournament play.
ARTICLE III — MEMBERSHIP and DUES
Membership is open to ladies who are recommended/endorsed by at least 2 current QLGA members.
Members must be at least 21 years of age.
Members must have a maximum USGA handicap index of 30. (Grandfathered for ladies who are QLGA members as of 31 Dec 2021)
Members must maintain membership with the Quarry Golf Club. (Grandfathered for ladies who are QLGA members as of 31 Dec 2021)
In accordance with the World Golf Handicap System, all QLGA members are required to post accurate scores on designated QLGA playdates on the day of play. Failure to do so may affect ACE, points, and participating in Team Play or tournaments.
Guests are welcome to play twice in a calendar year on non-ACE dates to be approved by the Chair.
Annual dues are $50.00, to be paid no later than February 15 of each year.
Dues will be used for the annual Quarry Cup, Ace of Aces tournament, Member Guest Day, the point system, and miscellaneous gift giving. All gift giving for exceptional circumstances and Quarry staff recognition will be approved by the board.
ACE day qualifier will be held once a month on the 2nd Thursday of each month. If the pro shop cancels due to weather or circumstances, another date will be designated by the Play Day Chair.
Low gross, and low net (including ties) each month qualifies to play in the year end Ace tournament. If a player qualified the month before and has the lowest score the following month, the next lowest score will qualify for Ace. To be eligible to be an ACE qualifier, a minimum of 4 players must be present and play a complete 18 holes.
A point system is used as an incentive to encourage more frequent play. This point system is comprised of the following for one calendar year starting on first QLGA play date:
1 point for each play date
ACE Day:
3 points for winning 1st LG and 1st LN (to include ties).
2 points for winning 2nd LG and 2nd LN.
ARTICLE IV OFFICERS AND ELECTIONS
Nominations of officers will be solicited by the secretary no later than November 1 of every even year. The officers will be elected by majority vote.
New officers will assume duties in January for a 2-year term.

Duties of the Officers:
The President will preside over meetings and oversee the officers, QLGA members and delegate duties as needed.
The Play Day Chair shall preside in the absence of the President. The Chair will promote and create a schedule of weekly playdates and tournaments to be held on Thursdays, unless the pro-shop states otherwise. The Chair will also be responsible for Play Day Guidelines.
The Secretary/Treasurer will keep minutes for general meetings and the current by-laws. Email voting will be submitted to the Secretary for record. They will keep track of membership dues and expenses. A written report on the accounting of expenditures will be submitted to the Board by the end of January.
The Rules Chair will be responsible for advice of the rules of golf for all QLGA playdates. A certified USGA Rules Official will be the final authority.
The Team Captains will be responsible for coordinating all play for the QLGA interclub team with other participating interclub teams. A team will consist of the 6 lowest handicap QLGA members who are available on the scheduled dates and are in compliance with both QLGA and interclub bylaws. Play dates will not be moved to accommodate QLGA player availability.
ARTICLE V MEETINGS
There will be at least two board meetings per year. Meetings may be held via virtually. The President can call a meeting at any time.
ARTICLE VI – SCORE CARD PLAYOFF RULE
The Quarry LGA tiebreaker system will be in this order: Back nine total, front nine total, handicap hole #1 through #18 until a winner is established.
ARTICLE VII — AMENDMENTS
The QLGA by-Laws may be amended at any time by a QLGA Board vote.
