Wenyi successfully defended his dissertation prospectus in May 2025. His dissertation focuses on comparing traditional and machine-learning methods for propensity-score analysis in causal inference.
Our lab made two presentations at the 2024 Society of Research in Education Effectiveness Conference. Qi presented our recently published work, "Predicting implementation of response to intervention in math using elastic net logistic regression." Jackie presented her ongoing research, "Mediation Modeling Using Weighted and Unweighted Composite Scores: Comparisons and Recommendations."
Jackie received the APA Division 5 Anne Anastasi Distinguished Early Career Contributions Award. This award "recognizes an early career individual who has made outstanding contributions to quantitative research methods."Â This is very encouraging!
Jackie joined the Editorial Board as an Associate Editor of the British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology. The British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology publishes articles that develop new quantitative methods or models, or extend/compare/critique existing ones with explicit psychological and behavioral research applications.
