The Education City XC MTB Night Race Series is a 3-race cross-country (XC) mountain bike series held at the Education City MTB Trail. Races will take place once a month, on weekdays:
Race Dates:

Round 3: December 16, 2025 (Tuesday) New Date: January 5, 2026 (Monday)
Riders will compete under the night lights of the Education City MTB Trail, creating a unique racing atmosphere for the MTB community.
Each race will crown podium winners in every category. Series Champions will be awarded at the conclusion of the 3rd round.
Venue: Education City MTB Trail, Qatar Foundation
Type: Cross-Country (XC) Lap-based race.
Course Location: Education City MTB Trail. [Click Here to view the MAP]
Terrain Type: Off road, wide trail, beginner friendly
Lap Distance: 4.8km (with KM markings every 500m)
Laps: The number of laps will vary depending on the category.
Night race - All riders must have front lights and a rear red blinker.
Races will be held for the following divisions (Male & Female):
Youth: U15 (born 2011 & later)
Junior: U19 (2007–2010)
Senior: 19–34 years (1991–2006)
Masters A: 35–44 years (1981–1990)
Masters B: 45 years & Up (1980 & earlier)
Note: Categories may be merged if fewer than five riders are registered.
Points will be awarded in each race according to finishing position.
At the end of the 3rd round, the rider with the highest cumulative points in each category will be declared as the Series Champion.
In the event of a tie:
Highers number of race wins
Best finishing position in the final race
Points Table:

Pre-Event registration only, NO onsite registration
Entry Fees:
Youth and Juniors: 50 QAR
Adults: 80 QAR
Entry fees will cover: Chip rental for electronic timing, Live results, Bib numbers, Coffee courtesy of Shift Bikes & Cafe
Deadline: 3 days before each race.

16:30 PM - Riders check-in and number pick up
17:45 PM - Race Briefing
18:00 PM - Race Start by Waves (every 30 sec.)
Wave 1: Men Seniors (5 Laps)
Wave 2: Men Masters A (5 Laps)
Wave 3: Men Masters B (5 Laps)
Wave 4: All Women (4 Laps)
Wave 5: Juniors (3 Laps)
Wave 6: Youth (2 Laps)

General
All riders must wear a helmet at all times while riding.
Front and Rear bike lights are MANDATORY for night racing.
Riders must use a mountain bike (minimum 26-inch wheels, front suspension recommended – but not mandatory)
No e-Bikes or motor-assisted bikes are allowed.
Conduct
Riders must follow the course at all times.
Cutting the trail or unsportmanlike conduct may result in disqualification.
Overtaking must be done safely – riders should announce their intent (“On your left/right”)
Respect fellow riders, volunteers, and officials.
Technical and Feedzone
Mechanical assistance and feeding are allowed only in designated zones.
No outside assistance on other parts of the course.
Timing & Results
Electronic timing with active timing chips (No chip – No Result – DSQ)
Lost Chip = 300 QAR
Live Splits available while the race is in progress, Final Results published after each race.
Any protest must be submitted in writing (protest form) within 15 minutes of preliminary results posting.
Per Race
Podium medals for Top 3 in each category (Guaranteed)
Finishers' medals for all participants. (TBC by QF)
Prizes from Sponsors/Supporters. (TBC if any)
Series Awards (after Round 3)
Trophies for overall points winners in each category.
