At Complex Materials Physics & Emerging Phenomena Group (CMPEP), we explore the synthesis, characterization, and physics of advanced functional, quantum, and complex materials. Our research focuses on multiferroics, spintronics, strongly correlated systems, semiconductors, and low-dimensional systems and quantum materials.

We investigate emergent phenomena including magnetism, multiferroicity, magnetoelectric coupling, spin-orbit effects, charge-orbital ordering, phase transitions, and electronic and magnetic transport. We are particularly interested in understanding how competing interactions and coupled magnetic, electronic, structural, and quantum degrees of freedom give rise to complex and emergent behavior. By combining materials synthesis, advanced characterization, and computational approaches, we aim to uncover new physics and develop materials for quantum technologies, spintronics, semiconductors, and multifunctional applications
