About Us

Started in 2018, we on the Pyrites pride ourselves on being the first all-girl FTC team at St. Thomas Aquinas High school. In 2020, due to program growth, we added boys to the team but remain a majority and female-led team. The 2023-2024 season is our sixth year and we are excited to see how many new students have taken an interest in robotics. We enjoy the FTC  competition and the spirit and energy it brings. We especially love communicating with other teams, competing with and against them, and cheering everyone on! Most importantly, we love sharing with our community, doing outreach, volunteering, and spreading Gracious Professionalism!

In the future, we hope that we can continue to expand the robotics program not only at our school, but in other schools in our community. In addition, we hope to get as many young girls involved in FIRST as possible. In 2019, one of our founders created the FIRST Sisters mentoring program, we hope we can continue to promote and spread this program to our community.
