Hi!
My name is Aja, the co-head coach of the Pius X Dance Team. As a Thunderette alumni, this program holds a special place in my heart, and it means a lot to be able to come back and give back to the team that shaped so many of my own experiences.
I have been dancing for 18 years, with experience in both competitive dance and collegiate dance teams. I was a member of the UNK Sapphires while earning my undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and I also spent four years teaching dance in a variety of styles during my time there. Now, I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy!
My coaching style focuses on creating a positive and supportive environment where dancers can grow both as athletes and individuals. My hope is that the girls leave this program with strong friendships, meaningful experiences, and lessons that last long after their time on the team.
I truly have found a love for coaching and being apart of the Pius X community! I am so grateful for this opportunity to help guide this team while towards the potential I know they have. Go Bolts!!
Hi!
I am Niki Schnabel, the co-head coach of the Pius X Dance Team.
Outside of the Thunderettes, I enjoy all things Disney! I am a travel advisor and love to help families go on various vacations!.. but I do specialize in booking Disney vacations! I also work at St. Joes as a part time preschool teacher and part time Para!
I think Thunderettes is about building a team that’s confident, cohesive, and ready to take on any challenge as a team. While being on Rettes, you gain discipline and a strong work ethic, but also have the most fun and laughter along the way. I try to help the dancers get involved in the community/school and build a strong relationship with each other as well as the community/school!
My goal as a coach is helping our girls and team reach the next level of highschool dance. My favorite part of my job is seeing them reach the mile stones I already knew they could.
