Alyxis Mayeaux Drye, Director of Bands
Alyxis Mayeaux Drye was born in Texas in 1995 and graduated from Collierville High School, right outside of Memphis, Tn.
Mrs. Mayeaux earned her Bachelor of Music Education (BME) from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette in 2017. She performed with The Pride of Acadiana Marching Band, UL’s Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony, UL’s Percussion Ensemble and various other performance groups throughout her tenure at UL. She completed her student teaching at Dutchtown High School and Dutchtown Middle School.
Mrs. Mayeaux served as Band Director at Brusly High School in Brusly, Louisiana from 2018 - 2023 and as Assistant Director at St. Amant High School from 2023 - 2024. Throughout her time at Brusly, Brusly’s marching band and concert band earned superior ratings in multiple competitions and assessments. She led the concert band to earning Sweepstakes at LMEA’s District IV Large Ensemble Assessment in 2019 and 2023. During her short time at St. Amant, the St. Amant High School Marching Band competed in Louisiana's Showcase of Marching Bands earning 4th place, all 3 Concert Ensembles earned the Sweepstakes award at LMEA's District IV Large Ensemble Assessment and the Wind Symphony performed in the prestigious Carnegie Hall for the National Band and Orchestra Festival.
Mrs. Mayeaux was a member of Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps for their inaugural season in 2014 and on their administration team for their 2022 season. In November of 2022 she was selected as LMEA’s Young Music Educator of the Year. In 2024, Mrs. Mayeaux accepted the head director of Prairieville High School.
Mrs. Mayeaux's professional affiliations include being a member NAFME, LMEA, District IV Honor Band Directors Association, where she serves as Treasurer, and Salyers Percussion Education Team. Mrs. Mayeaux and her husband reside in Gonzales, Louisiana with their dog, Heidi.
Abigail Lambert, Assistant Director of Bands
Abigail is a passionate music educator with a degree in Music Education from Southeastern Louisiana University. Her primary instrument is the oboe, and she brings both performance expertise and a deep love for musical growth into the classroom and rehearsal space.
With 5 years of teaching experience, Ms. Lambert is committed to helping build a strong, well-rounded band program that emphasizes musical excellence, student leadership, and community involvement. She believes in creating a positive, inclusive environment where students of all backgrounds can thrive and grow through music. Ms. Lambert is known for her positivity, energy, and ability to bring out the best in her students. She is thrilled to bring her experience and enthusiasm to Prairieville High School and is excited to help shape the next generation of student musicians.
