My core values are centered on the practice of transformational leadership. In my job as Sergeant for the Pemberton Borough Police Department, I have (and currently) acted as a role model for change, and lead fellow officers through very complex and unpopular changes to agency practices in alignment with mandates from the State of New Jersey. While some changes are mandated, others are derived from within, and the power of collaborative decision-making has not only built trust but also established me as a true leader.
Prior to becoming Sergeant and since 2016, I was the Officer In Charge (OIC) of the police department when needed and ultimately responsible for the day-to-day operations. This successful experience ultimately led me to the promotion to Sergeant. A key responsibility, I have within my current position is contribution and management of the department's budget as well as maintaining transparent and productive relationships with the local governing body and administrator.
Additionally, during my time at Pemberton Borough Police Department, I gained a thorough understanding of the importance of having a community relations-focused organization. I founded the Pemberton Borough Police Community Association and currently hold the position of President. The mission of this organization is to build a stronger relationship between the police department and the community we serve.
