The name of this organization shall be The PUST Higher Study Association (PUSTHSA) at The Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST).
The purpose of the Higher Study Association is to promote higher education among students by sharing information, arranging seminars/webinars and making them interested, conscious and enthusiastic.
Definitions and Conditions. Membership shall consist of current undergraduate and graduate students.
Anti-Discrimination. PUSTHSA shall not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, physical handicap, or creed.
New Membership. New members will be given added during recruitment of new members.
Right to Non-Participation. All members, including but not limited to new members, reserve the right to refrain from participation in any activities without consequence, based upon personal or religious beliefs, personal values, or moral reasons as defined by the member.
Compliance with Law. Any and all interaction and activity between members and/or new members will be limited to guidelines stated by Pabna University of Science and Technology policy, as well as local and state laws.
Removal of Members. Expulsion from PUSTHSA shall be considered by the PUSTHSA executive committee after discussion with advisors only in egregious cases of moral turpitude which significantly affect the functions and reputation of PUSTHSA. Members shall not be expelled except that a super majority (75%) of a quorum of active members vote for expulsion of a member. The member in question shall be granted due process and allowed an opportunity to defend himself or herself before any vote is taken.
While the organization’s primary audience is drawn from students in the Higher Education Program, general membership shall be open to all students with an interest in higher education and enrolled at the Pabna University of Science and Technology.
Faculty would be the advisor and the alumni would be granted as alumni membership.
Selection shall be done by voting.
Voting eligibility is limited to the total membership as defined in Article III
The honorable director at the student advisor office at the Pabna University of Science and Technology along with the current executive committee could arrange the election.
Voting could be done by online/on-campus.
Members of the PUSTHSA Executive Committee as well as appointed positions will serve a one-year term following their election.
The advisor shall be chosen by the Executive Committee of the organization with the advice of the honorable director at the student advisor office at the Pabna University of Science and Technology.
The advisor shall be a full-time faculty member at the Pabna University of Science and Technology.
The executive committee shall arrange meetings, seminars, and webinars at a regular interval (at least once a month)
The executive committee shall keep regular contact with the honorable advisors for their suggestions, and advices for the association.
Amendments to this Constitution may be introduced at any regularly scheduled PUSTHSA meeting. Any committee member may introduce a constitutional amendment. Voting shall take place at the PUSTHSA meeting.
Honorable advisors should be included in the process of amendments.
