About Dr. Pushpendra
Dr. Pushpendra is currently working as a National Postdoctoral Fellow (ANRF-NPDF) at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Editor at Wiley, where he contributed to several leading international journals, including the International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, the International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, and the International Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics. During his tenure at Wiley, he successfully handled and processed over 250 peer-reviewed manuscripts, gaining extensive exposure to scholarly publishing and research quality assessment.
Before joining Wiley, Dr. Pushpendra worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, where his research focused on advanced thermal energy storage technologies and sustainable energy systems.
He earned his Ph.D. in Thermal Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi), India, and his M.Tech. in Hydro Power Engineering from the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal (NIT Bhopal), India. His research expertise spans renewable energy systems (hydro and solar), phase change materials (PCM), latent heat thermal energy storage, and space heating and cooling applications. He has strong hands-on experience in both experimental investigations and numerical simulations, with proficiency in tools such as ANSYS Fluent, CFX, DesignModeler, ICEM CFD, CFD-Post, and advanced data acquisition systems. His ongoing ANRF-NPDF research explores AI-assisted hybrid nano textured evaporative cooling and PCM-based thermal management solutions for electric vehicle batteries in extreme climates.
In addition to his research activities, Dr. Pushpendra has accumulated over a decade of teaching experience across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has served as a Teaching Assistant at IIT Mandi and NIT Bhopal for multiple mechanical and energy engineering courses, and was also selected as an Associate Teacher for a core B.Tech course during his tenure at IIT Mandi. Earlier in his career, he worked as an Assistant Professor at NIMS University and VNS Group of Institutions.
He also worked as a Project Engineer at IIT Mandi on a project funded by the DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Goverment of India.

Experiments & Simulations
Doctorate Thesis: Solar Thermal Energy Storage using Phase Change Material for Space Heating Applications.
Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Latent Heat Thermal Energy Storage System.
Effect of Reynolds’ Number and Inclination Angle on Charging/Discharging Characteristics of Latent Heat Thermal Energy Storage System (LHTES). (using ANSYS Fluent)
Effect of multiple partial charging/discharging for the efficient use of the latent heat exchanger.
Design, fabrication, and experimentation of the solar space heating active system(s).
Study the effect of the local heating system on the size reduction of the latent heat thermal energy storage unit.
Master's Thesis: CFD-Based Flow Analysis in Elbow Type Draft Tube for Small Hydro Plants.
The flow through the draft tube at different operating conditions under variable submergence levels was simulated using the ANSYS CFX code.
A detailed analysis of the design parameters of the Kaplan hydro turbine with the different draft tubes was done.
Bachelor's Thesis: Heating and Cooling of Room using Geo-Thermal Energy.
The heating/cooling of the room was done by using thermal energy from the earth's surface, as the temperature inside the earth's surface is approximately the same in all seasons.
