Our recruitment process moves quickly at the start of the fall semester, so tracking these key windows is essential. Pre-recruitment preparation and workshops take place throughout late August and early September to ensure you are fully prepared. Immediately following, company presentations and formal interviews begin in mid-September and run through early October.
To ensure you are well prepared for recruitment, we host three targeted professional development workshops covering resume construction, interview strategy, and professional etiquette. Members can then perfect their pitch during one-on-one mock interviews conducted by faculty and returning industry recruiters.
The Purdue Actuarial Club’s fall recruitment program is exclusively open to club members who have paid their annual club dues and remain in good standing. Additionally, eligible students are required to attend each of the recruitment preparation workshops. All students must abide by our strict professionalism guidelines.
Throughout peak recruitment weeks, over 35 companies visit Purdue to pitch their firms and meet candidates. These presentations feature leaders from life and health, property and casualty, and consulting firms. Every night of presentations concludes with an open networking session, giving you direct access to hiring managers and Purdue alumni. Dinner is also provided prior to each night of company presentations.
The day after a company's presentation, recruiters will interview candidates. Firms are permitted to pre-select a portion of their interview slots ahead of time by reviewing the club's resume book. The remaining interview slots are filled by candidates selected during the networking session.
