On February 24, 2024, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Santa Rosa Campus proudly hosted its 2nd Leon Arcillas Collegiate Research Colloquium with the theme, "The Faculty and Students of PUP SRC: Exploring Research Horizons." The event took place at the campus building's 2nd Floor, coinciding with the celebration of PUP SRC's 21st Founding Anniversary. Under the guidance of Director Leny V. Salmingo, the Research Colloquium promised to be a platform for scholarly exchange and intellectual discourse, showcasing the dedication to academic excellence and community engagement. The event was graciously sponsored by Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas, reflecting the commitment and support of the local government towards academic endeavors.Facilitated by Dr. Marion C. Laguerta, Head of Campus Academic Programs, along with an esteemed panel of reactors, the program featured paper presentations from distinguished faculty members and student researchers. These scholars exemplified excellence in their respective fields, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and innovation. The event also included an awarding ceremony, recognizing academic discoveries with emerging potential.In the Poster Presentation Category, standout projects included "ILaya: A Web-Based Document Issuance System with Blotter Records Management for BRGY. Aplaya, Santa Rosa, Laguna" and "Assessment of Internal Control System and Level of Fraud Risk Management of Grocery Stores." Meanwhile, the Oral Presentation Category featured remarkable studies such as "Internal Control to Mitigate Asset Misappropriation in Micro and Small Coffee Shops" and "CORNTAINER: A Feasibility Study on Manufacturing Cornhusk Paper Bag." These presentations highlighted the diverse range of research topics and the dedication of student researchers from various organizations including JPIA, PIIE, GIVE, and ACAP.The annual conduct of the Leon Arcillas Collegiate Research Colloquium aims to promote student excellence and academic pursuits, enriching the undergraduate experience and fostering a culture of scholarly inquiry.
