Director's Message

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines Santa Maria Bulacan Campus (PUPSMB) is the only state university in the 6th District of Bulacan. It was established through the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed between the PUP President and Local Government Unit (LGU) officials in 2005 at Pulong Buhangin, Santa Maria, Bulacan. It is clearly stipulated in the MOA in consonance with the mandate of the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines that the University is willing to extend its expertise and services to help the Local Government Units establish University Extension/Campus. The Municipality of Santa Maria Bulacan, on the other hand, aims to provide its constituents especially those who belong to the lower income group quality, responsive, excellent, and affordable College education.

PUPSMB campus offers the following programs: Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSENTREP), Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE), Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSED) major in English and Mathematics, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM), Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA), and Diploma in Office Management Technology (DOMT).

PUPSMB campus is part and parcel in the vision of the University to become “The National Polytechnic University in the 21st century.” In the pursuit of achieving this, PUP President formulated the Ten Pillars as his transformed agenda for the University and clearly states in the agenda no. 7, Global Academic Standards and Excellence. We (together with PUPSMB designees, admin, faculty and students), therefore, embrace the levelling up of our campus via accreditation from Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. We are indebted with the overflowing and abundance of support from the Municipality of Santa Maria Bulacan, PUP management led by Pres, Manuel M. Muhi, VP for Branches and Satellite Campuses, Prof. Pascualito B. Gatan, and QAC Team headed by Dr. Sanjay P. Claudio.

Bachelor of Science in Entrepreurship (BSE)

The Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSEntrep.) is a four-year course offered in the College of Business, designed to provide undergraduate students an in-depth understanding and appreciation of new venture operations in small business enterprises. It aims to equip young students with entrepreneurial spirit to realize a vibrant and developing economy in the hands of the Filipinos and develop desirable qualities of leadership, social concern and moral values among them. Bachelor in Secondary Education major in English (BSEd-EN)

The BSEd program is a four-year course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English. It is an excellent preparation for the English Language Arts teachers and for advancement in any field in which communication skills are important to ensure that knowledge is well transferred to students while addressing the local needs of English language learning. Courses offered for the major emphasizes critical and creative thinking, effective communication, innovation in language teaching and assessment, passion for lifelong learning and teaching, leadership and organizational skills, personal and professional ethics as teachers, resilience and agility, and national and global responsiveness. Bachelor in Secondary Education major in Mathematics (BSEd-MT)

The Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics is a four-year undergraduate program designed to meet the country’s need for teachers and to equip them with adequate and relevant competencies to teach mathematics in the secondary level. This program aims to develop highly motivated and competent teachers specializing in the content and pedagogy for secondary education and to produce globally competitive mathematics educators by providing them with the theoretical insights, specialized knowledge of education technology, teaching- learning applications, and integration of values towards responsible and dynamic leadership in schools and communities that will enhance their professional and personal development, and will equip them with critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT)

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program is a four-year degree program which focuses on the study of computer utilization and computer software to plan, install, customize, operate, manage, administer and maintain information technology infrastructure. It likewise deals with the design and development of computer-based information systems for real-world business solutions. The program prepares students to become IT professionals with primary competencies in the areas of systems analysis and design, applications development, database administration, network administration, and systems implementation and maintenance. Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM)

The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management is a laddered program that prepares students to have employable skills/competencies at every academic year level for them to be competitive in the hospitality industry locally and globally. This also prepares the students to be entrepreneurs. This curriculum includes laboratory experiences as well as local or international internship requirement in the industry. Continue reading
