On September 27, 2018, Dr. Emanuel C. De Guzman of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Yoshizane Maeda of Kagoshima University signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Academic Exchange Program for students of both universities.
The Faculty of Law, Economics and Humanities Graduate School of Kagoshima University and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Exchanges to develop and pursue cooperation in their educational and research activities.
The study of Tomoaki is about the role of Sari-Sari Store in the local economy of the country Philippines. The research into sari-sari stores will give us knowledge of an actual relationship between small enterprises and communities so that we can come up with the new way of understanding Filipino economy and society. Sari-sari stores have sometimes been an object to research from a variety of viewpoints and interests such as distribution channels for a large company, impact on Filipino life, slums, underground finance and so forth.
To further strengthen the partnership between Kagoshima University and the PUP Master of Science in Economics, the program invited Dr. Nishimura Satoru as visiting professor in the program. Dr. Satoru is currently a professor from the Faculty of Law, Economics and Humanities of Kagoshima University. Dr. Satoru is a graduate of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics and Master of Arts in Economics in Kyusyu University. He is currently a Professor in the Faculty of Law, Economics and Humanities in Kagoshima University. Dr. Satoru’s specialization includes Urban and Regional Economics, Agricultural and Labor Economics that could help in providing excellent teaching services in the M.S. Economics.
The University forged international partnership with Go Study Global Education in January 5, 2021. Go Study Global Education (Go Study) is an education consulting company established in 2017 in China with the objective to provide non-degree international education and cross-cultural exchange to Chinese students. Through the years of progression and development, Go Study has grown into a platform and bridge for education cooperation between many institutions in China and abroad. Go Study assists partner institutions to develop and establish international projects with high-cost performance from the aspects of internationalization management, curriculum, faculties, and students.
As part of the partnership between the University and Go Study Global Education, the Master of Science in Economics Program conducted series of international workshop about digitization. On December 5, 2021 Dr. Ricardo L. Dizon, chairperson of Master of Science in Economics Program discussed his topic The Role of Digital Economy in the Country and the Role of Data Science in Economic Development. Also, Dr. Gregoria M. Guce discussed the topic examining Theories about Digital Small Medium Exterprises.
On December 19, 2021, the Master of Science in Economics Program also organized a lecture on Digitization as part of partnership agreement to Go Study Abroad. Dr. Ricardo L. Dizon discussed the Role of Data Science in the Economic Development. Also, Dr. Aileen L. Camba discussed the topic examining Theories about Digital Small Medium Enterprises.
The university forged agreement with Beijing Hangweili Educational Technology, LTD (BHETL) last July 26, 2021 for cultural and educational collaboration. The agreement aims to establish educational linkages with foreign agencies and institutions through MOAs that would accept international students both in the undergraduate and graduate levels to enroll in its various academic programs (degree, non-degree, short-term courses) using traditional methods and alternative modes of learning, with the end in view of promoting global understanding and cooperation, closer relationships, academic enrichment and deep appreciation of the histories and cultural diversities of people all over the world.
As part of the partnership between PUP and Beijing Hangweili Educational Technology, LTD (BHETL), there are three foreign students from China who are currently taking Master of Science in Economics i.e. Fan Hua, Huang Wei, and Wang Xiaochun.
