Entrepreneurship is another area of expertise offered by joint venture of Master of Science in Economics Program and Department of Economics. To transfer this knowledge and expertise to the partner-communities, the Department established a program called KAUNLARANG ENTREPRENURYAL: SMES, OTOP, ATBP.
This program includes a seminar on Small-Medium Enterprise, One Town One Product, and a seminar workshop on creating a product that can be used for business and as a source of livelihood. This program started as an academic requirement in the mid-2000s and expanded as an annual extension project for the faculty and students due to the Department’s success in sharing its expertise and experiences in entrepreneurial activities. Since then, this program has become a collaboration of the faculty and students in the Department to further its goal of developing individuals into becoming productive and responsible citizens of the country.

The above table shows the distribution of training beneficiaries who attended the training programs of ABOT Kasanayan at Dunong Project and took the national certificate of competency issued by TESDA. Out of 11 trained beneficiaries, 5 took the national certificate of competency exam, and 80% or 4 of them passed. It also shows that out of 12 trained beneficiaries, 11 took the national certificate of competency for food and beverages of which there is a 100% passing rate. The high passing percentage shows that there is a high level of learning acquired by the beneficiaries during the training program of the University.
